Every year we hear dozens of ladies whining about how expensive and unaffordable lawn has become, and how they should be banned. Yet every year, we see the same ladies queuing up, pushing each other on the cash counters at their launch exhibitions.
This tells us that not only are females over obsessed with lawn, but the fact that every year, these brands make sure that they do something enticing to make these ladies break their vows to boycott luxury ‘designer lawn’.
According to our ‘lawn report’ this summer, the top five lawn collections that have won the hearts of millions of ladies in Pakistan are – Elan, Khaadi, Sana Safinaz, Junaid Jamshed and Kayseria.
We asked around to get opinions from ladies around us and here is what they have to say about their favourites this season:

We asked around to get opinions from ladies around us and here is what they have to say about their favourites this season:
Sana, a housewife says, “Elan has done too well this time. Their collection is just ravishing, makes you want to buy all their pieces!”
“Doubtlessly, their prints are truly elegant with organic and geometric patterns designed with delightful colours. Moreover, the drop dead gorgeous Mahira Khan being the brand ambassador adds her charm to the collection. The prices range from PKR 6000-7000, including the three piece suits with printed borders and embroideries which are the talk of the town!”
Mehreen, a 24 year old kindergarten teacher said, “Khaadi, surprisingly has a more reasonable collection this time ranging from PKR 3500-7000. Perhaps this is the brand’s way of standing out amongst the other famous and more expensive collections.
Furthermore Khaadi’s prints are extremely popular among the ladies since ever, be it a casual wear or formal, no woman says no to Khaadi. Thus, with its economical products, it is increasingly attracting consumers.”
Sana Safinaz, costly, but worth-it classy has the charisma to get ladies going head over heels. Their latest collection, , including a variety of patterns and embroideries and more importantly the magnificent chicken kaari ranges from PKR 6000-6500.
Areeba, a university student says: “Sana Safinaz prices are justified because then it’s not just lawn. It’s a whole gorgeous dress which can be worn quite formally”
The last two of our top collection are Junaid Jamshed and Kayseria. Where Junaid Jamshed ranges from PKR 3000-8000, Kayseria starts from PKR 1800 going up to PKR 5700. Both offer a diversified range of suits in colours and patterns including pastels as well as bright spring colours.
Nonetheless, living in this arid climate of Pakistan, it is quite obvious that lawn can never go out of fashion.
However, it would be a whole lot better if our designers would treat it more like a ‘need of every woman’, rather than the ‘luxury for rich’.
This way, more women would be encouraged to wear what they desire without burdening their bank accounts.
