A 10-year-old boy from Pakistan’s beautiful Swat Valley has made his country proud by winning a prize in an international Qur’an recitation competition held in Algeria. The ‘Mazamir Dawood’ event was organized by the private media channel ‘Echorouk’. They brought together young Qur’an reciters worldwide.

Muhammad Bashar, the young talent representing Pakistan secured the fourth position. He achieved an award of $1,500. His achievement highlights the dedication many young children have toward memorizing scripture. Moreover, they show the religious and cultural upbringing in Pakistan encourages this at a very young age.

The success of this boy shows the dedication that still exists in Pakistan. Their achievements highlight their hard work and the importance of the Quran in their lives. Their skills in Quranic recitation are recognized on international stages. Also, there they frequently excel and bring honor to their country.
Further, a Pakistani teen participated in a similar context in Makkah and secured a certification. Muhammad Bashar isn’t the first time a young Pakistani has shined in an international Qur’an competition. Last year another talented Pakistani Azam Tariq participated in the 43rd King Abdulaziz International Competition. The competition had three categories; the Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Qur’an. He was awarded SR 5,000 and advanced to the final round.
