13-Hour Rally Breaks Guinness World Record in Sweden

Swedish table tennis players Emil Ohlsson and Fredrik Nilsson have made history by breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest table tennis rally. Known as the Spin Duo, they achieved an incredible rally lasting 13 hours, 37 minutes and 6 seconds.

The record-breaking attempt took place at Slice Malmรถ, a ping-pong bar in Malmo, Sweden. The players trained intensively for four months, preparing themselves physically and mentally for this grueling challenge. Throughout the rally, they maintained their focus and determination, even managing to eat while keeping the ball in play.

Friends and family cheered them on as they lobbed the ball back and forth without any breaks. Technical support closely monitored the rally to ensure it met Guinness World Record criteria. The duo erupted in celebration when they surpassed the previous record, which was set by UK players in June.

This isnโ€™t the only recent table tennis record. In March, a club in Northern Ireland achieved a Guinness World Record for the most consecutive opponents in a rally. Additionally, China recently completed a clean sweep of the Olympic table tennis gold medals in Paris, showcasing their dominance in the sport.

Ohlsson and Nilssonโ€™s feat adds to a year of incredible achievements in table tennis, proving that determination and preparation can lead to history-making moments.
