Thirteen facilitation centres are now operational in Murree to assist tourists during the rain and snowfall, the Punjab PDMA reported. PDMA Director-General Irfan Ali Kathia emphasized, “The Murree administration must remain alert and there should be no negligence. Snow should be cleared from roads through heavy machinery, and traffic flow must be ensured.” Travelers are advised to verify weather updates before their trips and to proceed with caution.

This move comes as the NDMA urged safety measures in light of expected cold weather and smog across Pakistan. Kathia assured, “Efforts are being made to ensure that no untoward incident occurs.” These measures aim to avoid a repeat of the 2022 tragedy, where 22 tourists lost their lives after getting trapped in heavy snow and traffic jams.
