Karachi’s 100 year old building, Jufelhurst School has been apparently demolished by land mafia, reports ARY News. The whole school structure, situated at Gurumandir has been bulldozed in an overnight operation on Saturday.

This has resulted in an outcry from the activist as the school is a historical heritage and is a home to 1,000 students.

“Around 40 to 50 people entered in school premises late nig ht and started demolishing it”, the school principal said.

For those who don’t know, the building was established back in 1928. Its foundation was laid by a World War-II survivor, Jufelhurst. It was declared a government school in 1974 and was inducted as a national heritage.

While the educational institute failed to receive protection, an inquiry has been kickstarted by the inspector general of the Sindh police.
