Asia’s largest private housing society, Bahria Town Karachi is often in the news for the wrong reasons.
Back in May, the Supreme Court had barred Bahria Town Karachi from selling plots and declared transfer of lands between Malir Development Authority (MDA) and the Bahria Town Karachi as illegal. Now, yet another update about the society has raised many eyebrows.

Apparently, pictures of Bahria Town’s Eiffel Tower, that is under construction, are now making the rounds on social media.
The tower will be located in Precinct 37 of Bahria Sports City. However, while it is an iconic landmark to be celebrated in the city, the public appears skeptical about the development.
People believe that with the nation undergoing crisis like scarcity of water, investing money in such projects are unprofitable for the nation.
For those who are unaware, Bahria Town Lahore also has a replica of Eiffel Tower that was constructed in 2014. It stands tall at a glorious height of 80 m (262 ft) and is a sight to behold. It has 3 floors; L’Eiffel (Coffee shop), Fine Dine (Resturant) and Top (Viewing Deck).
According to Bahria Town’s Chairman Malik Riaz, the main aim of the housing society is to provide a quality lifestyle to the middle and lower class at affordable prices, equivalent to the facilities of a five-star hotel facility.
The authorities also claim that they have transformed a barren desert into a Dubai-like living facility.
