According to WABetaInfo, โDark Themeโ is available to all beta users with version 2.20.13, and can be enabled in the โChatsโ section of the appโs settings menu.
You have the option of turning WhatsAppโs dark mode permanently on, permanently off, or else having it dictated by Androidโs system-wide dark mode or battery saver settings.”
Dark mode has been anticipated for both Facebook and WhatsApp for a very long time. Not only does it save the user a decent amount of battery, but it also is easy on the eyes.
With the Beta release now supporting Dark Mode, WhatsApp is now Facebook’s third major application to get this feature, Facebook Messenger and Instagram already have the treatment.
However, at this point, it is still unsure if the mode will be available for iOS or non-beta users.
The new mode is available to Android beta users for now, but WhatsApp is not taking any more signups which means non-beta users will need to opt for APKs.
