Countries around the world are now welcoming individuals after the coronavirus had shut borders. The US Embassy announced it would open student visas for Pakistanis in October. Pakistanis can now easily apply for Italy’s work visa as well.
Italian Ambassador to Pakistan Andreas Ferrarese shared that his government was working on a mechanism ‘to ease the documents’ verification process.
He mentioned that this process would streamline the work and make it easier for aspiring Pakistanis to Italy.
The Ambassador shared this in a meeting with Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Sayed Zulfikar Abbas during a briefing.
Moreover, the Italian ambassador shared that the government is putting in a lot of effort to ensure the instant resolution of problems currently being faced by Pakistani residents.
Overseas Employment For Pakistanis
Many countries have now started to open borders and are particularly looking for skilled employees to apply on work visas. SAPM shared that seasonal and non-seasonal workers can apply for a work visa during 2020-21 with positivity.
He also added that Pakistan’s re-inclusion in the list signifies that the countries have begun a new era of bilateral ties. He added that Italy has always been an ally to Pakistan in difficult times.
Reportedly, Italy is giving 30,000 work visas to nationals from non-EU countries (including Pakistan). This means that skilled workers from the agriculture, tourism, construction, and freight sectors can look forward to applying.
Earlier, the Pakistan Embassy also facilitated thousands of undocumented Pakistani workers in Italy to seek legal status through a scheme launched by the Italian government in June 2020 to regularise the undocumented foreign workers.
Italy Entry Requirements
Because of the novel Coronavirus (keeping in mind that Italy was one of the worst-hit places), the country adapted to new entry requirements.
All EU / EEA nationals will only need to present an identification document to enter the borders. Non-EU/EEA traveler wishing to visit Italy need to present the following at the Italian port of entry to be permitted to enter:
- A valid passport or travel document. Valid for at least three more months beyond their planned Exit date from Schengen and issued within the last 10 years.
- A visa – if they are subject to the Italian visa regime.
Other documents required include a letter of sponsorship (if any), invitation from the Italian host, documents to prove financial income and means, ticket itinerary, etc. Other documents can be required.
Nonetheless, you’ll be asked questions about the trip, including the purpose of visit, duration of stay, where you will be staying, etc. However, applying for a work visa (D-visa) requires you to meet the expectations.
