There’s a sense of pride when I proudly say or claim that I am a 90s kid! Hear me out; I am talking about a time where families actually ate dinner together. When kids bicycled to school and played in parks, cellphones were extremely rare, and classic movies won you.
Though out-of-the-box and come very much on-point, the content produced nowadays is still no match in from of the classics from the 90s.
Movies back in the day were simple, meaningful, the talent was unmatchable, and no matter how talented an actor or actress is, they won’t compete.
So if you want to know what really is all-so-amazing about content in the 90s, here’s a list of 7 classic movies that are a must-watch!
7 Classic Movies From The 90s That You MUST Watch!
7. Terminator 2: Judgment Day (Terminator Series)
An Arnold Schtzineger movie? How could it now be a classic! The Terminator series is one of the most well-known and celebrated franchises around the world. The story is about a killer cyborg who is sent to eliminate a waitress, Sarah Connor, whose son will one day become a savior against machines in a post-apocalyptic future!
One can never have enough of rogue robots, right?
6. The Sixth Sense
This movie actually gave me the chills! Can you imagine being able to see the dead at such a tender age? This 1999 classic movie is about a little boy who can see some of the most bone-chilling spirits!
Throughout the movie, we see how he has a hard time trying to cope with everyday life because of his special gift. Starring Bruce Willis, Haley Joel Osment, and Toni Collette, this is surely a must-watch!
5. Fight Club
the movie is about a white-collared insomniac who decides to open his very own underground fight club with a soap salesperson. But, little did the two know that their precious project will be a victim and become something sinister and wicked.
This 1999 vintage classic features Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, and Helena Bonham Carter. It is based on the 1996 novel ‘Fight Club’ written by Chuck Palahniuk.
4. The Lion King
Growing up in the 90s also made me a Disney Kid. Yes, I have binged watched Nick, Disney, and all the channels ‘burger’ kids watched when they were bored. But you have to admit, nothing beats ‘classics’ like the one and only, The Lion King.
The story revolves around a cub Simba who is cunningly manipulated into believing that he is the reason his father is dead (no matter how many times you’ll watch it, this scene will make you cry every time!).
Simba then blames himself and runs away from home. Simba’s uncle eventually takes over the kingdom as the new King. But, the rightful Lion King returns to claim his throne!
3. Jurassic Park
How could man-eating dinosaurs not make this list? Just like the Terminator franchise, Jurassic Park is a worldwide hit! It is one of the best, popular and groundbreaking projects by Steven Spielberg.
The story revolves around John Hammond, an entrepreneur who decides to open a wildlife park containing cloned dinosaurs. However, a breakdown of the island’s security system causes the creatures to escape and bring about chaos!
2. The Matrix
I mean, come on, do we even have to mention how talented, good-looking, and absolutely stunningly mind-blowing Keanu Reeves is? This 1999 fiction action is about Thomas Anderson, a computer programmer who finds himself in a war against supercomputers.
1. Toy Story
Hands-down, Toy Story has been one of the best franchises to emerge in the 90s. It’s about a bunch of toys that would do anything for their human (Andy). Not just that, the story is about friendship, loyalty, hardships, and teamwork.
This heart-warming and heart-touching series is widely-watched by people of all ages and is still loved to date. No matter how many times you watch it, you never get tired!
Pixar’s first feature film hit the hammer on the nail and set a high standard in the world of animated cinema. So, are you team Woody or Team Buzz?
