And Pakistan’s sixteen universities make it to the Asia University Ranking 2021.

Impact Rankings 2021: 36 Pakistani Universities Make It To The List

Times Higher Education (THE) releases an Impact Rankings list every year since 2019 that assesses universities according to UN’s SDG – 17 goals for a sustainable future. The list for 2021 has been released and 36 of the Pakistani universities have been named. It is certainly a reason of pride for the country.

Universities from all over the world were assessed but 95 nations got the opportunity of witnessing their universities on it. The list comprises of 1,115 universities.

NUST – leading amongst Pakistani universities

Amongst Pakistani universities, NUST (National University of Sciences and Technology) is on the top. They have secured this place for fulfilling various goals from the UN SDG foundation. Those goals are:

  • SDG 7 โ€˜Affordable & Clean Energy,โ€™
  • 9th SDG: โ€˜Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure,โ€™
  • SDG 12 โ€˜Responsible Consumption and Production,โ€™
  • and SDG 17 โ€˜Partnerships for the Goals.โ€™

After NUST, you will find the University of Agriculture Faisalabad and COMSATS University Islamabad.

THE Impact Ranking 2021

The University of Manchester is leading the list of 1195 countries – this is the first time a UK university has led the Impact Ranking list. Moreover, 4 out of 10 universities amongst the top ten are from Australia. 75 of the 1195 universities are from Russia which is the most any one country has contributed. The second most institutions named are from Japan, which is 73.
