Marketing campaign holds a great space in the fashion industry. Coming up with new designs and launching a brand isnโt just about designing but also portraying the best image of your brand. Meanwhile, designing marketing can only be done with creativity and passion.
However, not all designers put an effort to come up with the right marketing ideas and strategies and just like designs and accessories, campaigns are also copied.

Omar Farooqโs New Collection
What seems like a fashion campaign for the latest fashion editorial is raising eyebrows everywhere. The picture of the model shows him standing on a replica of grass and weed. It seems very ordinary but only until you take a look at Burberryโs campaign for sustainable fashion back in 2020. Fancy taking a look?
Plagiarism Or Inspiration?
Ricardo Tisci, the creative director for the British brand Burberry, offered a line of sustainable goods back in 2020. The collection offered clothes and accessories featuring recycled and repurposing materials, fabric scraps, and fishnet.
While the campaign aligned with the brandโs idea and produce, it seemed quite sensible to make the model stand on the replica of grass. Because what is sustainable fashion if you are not thinking about the environment? However, does the same apply to Omar Farooqโs campaign? Did he produce this collection while keeping sustainability factors in mind? We donโt think so!
Not to mention that his latest collection is named โSpace/Timeโ which sure doesnโt align with the theme of the photoshoot.

Creating a replica of space wouldโve been better or giving a different name to the collection might have been better for the brand image.
