Remember when you were in school, you used to get certificates and rewards for getting good grades or for winning races on sports day? Remember that feeling? Even just a star on our assignment would make us feel happy and excited and would act as an incentive to do better in our next assignment. For some reason, the element of appreciation only lasted till the academic level and once we stepped into the corporate world, things changed. Quite often employees get disheartened or lack motivation and one of the main reasons behind it is the lack of recognition. Very few companies understand the importance of rewarding their employees for their hard work and one of the companies that recently went an extra mile for their employees is McDonald’s Pakistan.
McDonald’s Pakistan recently organized the perfect getaway to the Northern Areas for their employees to celebrate their hard work and success despite the year being tough on the restaurant industry.“Restaurant Manager’s Convention” took place where McDonald’s gave rewards to their respective employees and appreciated how each one of them contributed in making the year 2021 a success. After recognizing the employees’ efforts, McDonald’s Pakistan gifted the team with a trip to the northern areas where they got a chance to blow off some steam and celebrate a well-deserved break. Needless to say, the employees loved the escape and were seen to be enjoying the beautiful snow of the northern areas.
Companies need to understand the importance of employee recognition and its impact on the team’s morale, motivation, and in turn on their performance. As Doug Conant, Fmr. President and CEO of the Campbell Soup Company said, “To win in the marketplace you must first win in the workplace.” We hope more companies take such initiatives for their employees because a happy employee means higher productivity which in turn makes this a win-win case. So to all the companies out there, what’s stopping you?
