The metaverse is a virtual world that people can visit in avatar form using VR and AR headsets. Itโs a whole universe, as the name suggests, in which everything feels like real life but it isnโt really. Provided that children are supposed to be kept back from many virtual experiences, what makes these names believe they should create a metaverse for children?
Just last Thursday, the Lego Group and Fortnite creator Epic Games announced that they are working together for a special reason. They are in the process of creating a digital world that aims to be a safe space for children.ย
What Have The Two Companies Announced?
So far, the gist is that this partnership will mean that both will agree to a set of three principles. These will be: prioritizing children’s safety, safeguarding privacy, and empowering them to control what they can use in their digital experience.
There are very less details available for now. People are confident because both the companies have experience in the area of the digital space for children. The Lego Company has reportedly worked with UNICEF to develop a Digital Child Safety Policy. This policy serves to protect children in all their games.
