In recent news, Lahore High Court has sought 30 VVIP passes & red vehicle stickers for the opening ceremony of PSL at Multan Stadium. LHC also asked PBC to arrange 25 passes for each match scheduled in Mulan as per the ‘desire of lordships in letter & spirit’. However, the letter was later withdrawn after the request for VVIP passes was denied.
The letter was referred to the Manager of Multan stadium for access to the amenities of the LHC judges and their families who planned on attending the opening ceremony of the 8th edition of the PSL.
“I am, therefore, to ask you to arrange Chairman Box and provide Thirty (30) VVIP Passes and red vehicle stickers for the Opening Ceremony of PSL and Twenty (25) VVIP Passes for each match of PSL scheduled in Multan, immediately, in compliance with the desire of their Lordships in letter and spirit,” read the letter.

Later, the letter was withdrawn by LHC senior additional registrar after he submitted another letter stating,

Now as per the order of the competent authority, the letter in question is hereby withdrawn and no action in this regard is required,” it added.
The letter later went viral on social media and the judiciary system of Pakistan met with a lot of criticism about ‘Playing the Lords’ as netizens deemed the request as offensive and inappropriate.
Pakistani journalist Mubashir Zaidi also took to Twitter to share his two cents on the event as he wrote, “In England, they play at Lords. In Pakistan, we have My Lords.”
