According to a recent report from Bloomberg on Tuesday, the upcoming Apple event next month is expected to unveil AirPods featuring USB-C charging. The specifics remain unclear, as it’s uncertain whether this announcement will introduce a new generation of AirPods or simply integrate USB-C charging ports into the existing model.
This report aligns with earlier rumors that emerged as far back as March. Renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had indicated that AirPods compatible with USB-C would likely make their debut this year.
Notably, nearly all of Apple’s Beats headphones now incorporate USB-C ports as well.
Apple has already sent out invitations for its highly anticipated annual device event, set for September 12. The event is expected to introduce the iPhone 15 lineup, featuring four models.
Dubbed the “Wonderlust” event, Apple’s announcements could potentially extend beyond hardware. Speculations are rife about potential updates to services like Music, TV Plus, Fitness, and iCloud. Additionally, attendees might catch another glimpse of the forthcoming AR/VR headset, the Apple Vision Pro.
Unveiled during WWDC in June, the Apple Vision Pro headset carries a price tag of $3,499 and is slated to hit the market next year.
