The chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee Zaka Ashraf yesterday shared the welcome news of the resumption of the India-Pakistan bilateral series in the near future.

In a significant development, Zaka Ashraf, shared optimistic insights regarding the potential resumption of bilateral cricket matches between India and Pakistan. The anticipation stems from Ashraf’s recent meeting with Jay Shah, Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

“I met Jay Shah, and he’s ready to resume Pakistan vs. India matches on a regular basis, but he needs his government’s approval. We are hopeful of some good news from India after the elections there this year,” shared Zaka Ashraf, hinting at a potential breakthrough after the Indian elections.

According to Ashraf, Shah expressed eagerness to revive regular cricket encounters between the arch-rivals, pending approval from the Indian government. Zaka Ashraf’s statement unfolds a ray of hope for cricket enthusiasts on both sides of the border.

The cricketing world has witnessed a hiatus in India-Pakistan bilateral series, due to the estranged political relations between the neighboring countries.

The situation created a void and fans have to wait for ICC events to see the arch-rivals square off against each other. However, Zaka Ashraf’s latest statement suggests a willingness on both ends to overcome political barriers and prioritize the sporting spirit that unites millions of fans.
