The producer and director of some of the biggest Indian TV series Ekta Kapoor is ready to remake ‘Tere Bin.’ CEO of Balaji production house, Ekta Kapoor has produced some of the most popular Indian dramas such as Naagin (2015), Bade Achhe Lagte Hain (2011-2014 and Jodha Akbar (2013-2015).

Tere Bin has won the hearts of not just Pakistani viewers but also Indian and Bangladeshi because of its relatable plot twist and the scandalous chemistry of its lead stars, Murtasim (Wahaj Ali) and Meerab (Yumna Zaidi). Tere Bin is a compelling tale about Meerab and Murtasim facing each other, fighting a continuous battle of ego, anger, and hatred.

Tere Bin - Remake by Ekta Kapoor
Ekta Kapoor Remakes Tere Bin

But this is not the first time neighboring countries have loved Pakistani work. Starring Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan as lead actors, Humsafar was just as widely loved. Regardless, fans have a lot to say about this remake. Complaints are coming in that Tere Bin will be turned into yet another typical Indian series. A damsel in distress and some charming hero to save her, no one wants to see that mellow drama again.

However, Kapoor was quick to reply to the criticism explaining she can’t change the story just because some people just don’t get it. Neither the content nor the production house seem to have any problems with the script.

This new project Kapoor has taken over shows appreciation for cross-border stories and as she ventures on further, we hope that she makes it a success.
