Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), lauded wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan for his unbeaten 171-run knock in the first innings of the opening Test against Bangladesh.

Rizwan showcased his batting brilliance, helping Pakistan post a formidable total of 448/6 before declaring. His innings was a blend of skill and determination, featuring 11 fours and three sixes.

A Near Double Century

Although Rizwan missed out on a well-deserved double century, his unbeaten 171 was nothing short of remarkable. Starting Day 2 with just 24 runs, he, along with Saud Shakeel, stitched together a crucial 240-run partnership. This effort pulled Pakistan out of a precarious position after an early collapse on Day 1.

With his monumental knock, the 32-year-old joined the elite group of Pakistani wicketkeepers who crossed the 150-run mark in Test cricket, which includes Imtiaz Ahmed, Taslim Arif, Rashid Latif, and Kamran Akmal.

Saud Shakeel also played a pivotal role, scoring 141 runs with nine boundaries. The partnership between Rizwan and Shakeel was instrumental in setting a strong foundation for Pakistan. Their 240-run stand turned the game around after Pakistan lost three quick wickets early on Day 1.
