High Expectations
She said that, “Nauman Ijaz has quite high expectations that he leaves very little room for variance when it comes to acting and his methods of working are quite different from others. About his commitment and detailing, Ijaz expects the best from the cast and at times it may put pressure on the actors at the beginning. Faryal also said that it was a nerve racking and informative experience, though he agreed that Ijaz does lay great pressure on his pupils.”
Distinctive Guidance Style
To elaborate, Mehmood described further about Ijaz’s approach which she found little more complicated but beneficial as guidance. From what she said, it was the essence of Ijaz has his own style of directing, which demands the actors have to get into his head. His way of sharing ideas is not as obvious and requires co-stars to be on the same page with him most of the time, they have to be intuitive. However, after getting over all these hurdles, Mehmood noticed that as soon as this understanding is reached, things progress much positively and satisfactorily in collaborations.
The Drama ‘Raqeeb Se’
It came to light because of their shared experience during the shooting of drama series ‘Raqeeb Se’ in which Mehmood, Ijaz and other recognised actors including Sania Saeed, Hadiqa Kiani and Hamza Sohail starred in. The series has intriguing storyline and realistic acting, “it was a pleasure to work with such an experienced actor like Ijaz.” continues Faryal.
