Bollywood’s King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, dazzled everyone with his diverse roles at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards in Abu Dhabi on Saturday night.

After several years away from the limelight, the 58-year-old actor expressed his joy in returning to the industry.

His comeback was crowned with a well-deserved ‘Best Actor’ award for his thrilling performance in Jawan, following an evening of electrifying entertainment that spanned five unforgettable hours.

 A Night of Celebration

Addressing a packed audience in the UAE capital, Shah Rukh Khan expressed his excitement, stating, “I love awards, I’m greedy for them… I feel a special happiness from the audience this year because I returned to work after a long break.”

His heartfelt words resonated with many as he reflected on the significance of winning this award after being away from the limelight for so long, making the moment even more poignant.

Major Winners and Performances

Additionally, the IIFA Awards couldn’t have been solely about Shah Rukh Khan. The event recognised several facets of the Indian cinema industry.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal was declared the winner of the best picture categories, and it received six awards, including ‘Best Supporting Actor’ for Anil Kapoor.

However, Uma Thurman received Best Actress for Kill Bill: Vol 1&2, and Rani Mukerji for Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway. R.D. Burman and Shankar Ehsan Loy were awarded India’s Biggest Musical Hit for Swades.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra was named India’s Best Director for Least Fail with 12 Fails. The night was filled with comedic performances and skits that kept everyone entertained.

Shahid Kapoor arrived on a bike, and the intensity increased when Khan entered the stage through fireworks, causing the intensity to drop to comedic levels when some of his colleagues took turns paying respect.
