– November 14: Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has named Pakistanโs Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi as the key threats in the upcoming white-ball series between the two countries.
Speaking to the media in Melbourne, Maxwell highlighted Pakistanโs unpredictability. He acknowledged that even a top-tier team like Australia needs to be cautious, as Pakistan has the ability to pull off surprises when least expected.
โPakistan can be very dangerous at different times,โ Maxwell said, acknowledging that the Green Shirts have caused problems for Australia in the past. โTheyโre unpredictable, which makes them tough to play against. You never know what to expect.โ

Maxwell was quick to praise two of Pakistanโs most consistent performers: Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi. Babar, one of the worldโs top batters, and Shaheen, a lethal force with the new ball, are players Maxwell believes Australia will need to manage carefully.
โWe definitely have to keep an eye on Babar Azam. Heโs an absolute superstar,โ Maxwell said, recognizing Babarโs ability to single-handedly turn games in Pakistanโs favor.

As for Shaheen, Maxwell called him โa wizard with the new ball,โ highlighting the challenge that Australiaโs batters will face when the left-arm quick gets into his rhythm.
โShaheen Afridi is world-class. Pakistan has some amazing players, and weโre looking forward to the challenge,โ Maxwell added.
No Easy Games
While Australia will start as favorites on home turf, Maxwell made it clear that theyโre not taking the series lightly. With a packed schedule ahead, the team is already preparing to bring their A-game against Pakistan.
โWe are not taking this series lightly. We are preparing for the series; we need to deliver our best to get the upper hand against Pakistan,โ he stressed.
