Pakistan’s Hajj Quota for 2025
For 2025’s Hajj quota in Pakistan, approximately 179,000 Pakistani citizens will be able to perform Hajj. The government has divided quotas between the public and private sectors, assigning 89,605 places to each. The idea behind this is to allow many citizens the chance to partake via government or private packages.
Special quotas have been set aside for certain groups: 1,000 places are intended for the labour sector and 300 for low-income workers enrolled with the Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI), with an aim to make the pilgrimage accessible for those with limited means.
Duration and Restrictions
The duration of the pilgrimage varies according to the Hajj Policy 2025 and can be either a long Hajj lasting 38 to 42 days or a shorter one ranging from 20 to 25 days. This flexibility helps pilgrims tailor their pilgrimage timeframe according to their personal and professional responsibilities. On the downside, the policy disallows children below 12 from joining.
The Road to Makkah initiative will ease travel procedures for pilgrims at major airports in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi by simplifying immigration procedures and paperwork before leaving for Hajj.
Women Traveling Without Mehram
Women’s Independent Pilgrimage The new policy notably permits women to undertake the Hajj without a mehram (a male protector) adhering to conditions outlined by the Islamic Ideological Council. This change grants greater autonomy to female pilgrims.
