Kamran Ghulam is finally set to make his long-awaited debut for Pakistan in the second Test against England, which will commence tomorrow in Multan.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed the Playing XI for the second Test today, featuring a spin-heavy bowling attack. This indicates that the management has opted to make a spin-friendly pitch in Multan.

Wait Is Over For Kamran Ghulam

After being in and out of the squad several times, Kamran Ghulam will get his chance to shine on the big stage. This is a moment many cricket fans have been waiting for, especially after Kamran’s incredible performances in domestic cricket, where he’s scored 4,377 runs at an impressive average of 49.17.

He was part of the squad for the Bangladesh series, however, he could not get a chance in either of the two games. He then showed his batting form in the Champions One-Day Cup, scoring 250 runs from six innings.

Pakistan’s Surprising Spin Strategy

Interestingly, there’s only one pace option in the team — all-rounder Aamir Jamal — which shows Pakistan’s clear strategy for the second Test. The team has called upon three specialist spinners: Sajid Khan, Zahid Mahmood, and Noman Ali.

Noman, with 47 wickets in just 15 Tests, brings experience and control, making him a key player on this spin-friendly track. Meanwhile, Sajid Khan has 25 wickets in 8 matches and Zahid Mahmood has taken 12 wickets in just 2 games. These three will be equally important in Pakistan’s bid to level the series.

What To Expect?

Pakistan dropped key players like Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah after a crushing defeat in the first Test. The second Test will be a make-or-break for Pakistan

The batting line-up will revolve around captain Shan Masood, vice-captain Saud Shakeel and experienced wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan.

Aamir Jamal showed his batting prowess and will have the additional responsibility of leading the attack as the only pacer. Meanwhile, Salman Ali Agha will have a key role.
