Under the Sindh Local Government Act, notices have been issued to restaurants and businesses found littering public spaces. Strict action will be taken against those who do not abide by the cleanliness laws.
Strict Penalties for Violators
A spokesperson for the KMC, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, emphasised that the authorities are committed to taking strict action against individuals and businesses found guilty of violating cleanliness laws. โWe are committed to maintaining cleanliness in the city, and we will not hesitate to take necessary actions against offenders,โ Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab asserted.

According to the KMC spokesperson, violators may face severe penalties, such as fines of up to Rs. 50,000 or imprisonment for up to three years. Additionally, three hotels have already received notices for dumping waste on footpaths. Consequently, they have three days to resolve the issue or face legal action.
This effort aims to promote cleanliness and provide Karachi residents with a safer, healthier environment.
