Cold Wave Sweeps Across Pakistan From Karachi to Khyber

A severe cold wave has gripped the entire country, with temperatures plunging to -9°C in Skardu and -6°C in Quetta and Kalat. Cities like Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi are also feeling the chill, recording 1°C, 6°C and 10°C respectively. The Met Office attributes this cold spell to a westerly wave, predicting further temperature drops of 4–7°C below normal across Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Baluchistan.

Northern regions, including Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, can expect light rain and snowfall. Meanwhile, cold winds are likely in Sindh and Punjab, with frost formation over the plains. The Met Office has warned of continued cold conditions until December 14, urging citizens to take necessary precautions to stay safe.
