During the interview, Humaira Bano spoke with unflinching confidence about women’s challenges in the entertainment industry She said that most women work in the industry to support their families and that their work is as dignified as any other profession. “There is no industry that is inherently bad,” she said, adding that an individual’s character determines his or her reputation, not his or her line of work. Criticising Firdous Jamal’s earlier statements, she called his words unfair and unnecessary.
Firdous Jamal’s Controversial Past
This is not the first time Firdous Jamal has received backlash. He previously revealed in a podcast that he had divorced his wife because she auditioned for the media industry. He further made some derogatory remarks about several female actors and received massive criticism. His words were taken as a direct hit on women’s contribution to the industry.
