The couple was reported missing at 6:30 pm, prompting a search and rescue mission by Pattaya City authorities. Nattanon Chamnankul, head of Pattaya City Sea Rescue, explained, โ€œWe received a call at 6:30 pm from a jet ski operator that one of their jet skis and the clients were missing. So, we set out on a search operation.โ€

Despite dark seas and challenging weather, the search initially failed to locate the couple. Abdulrahman used beach lights as a guide and swam ashore, arriving in a state of extreme exhaustion. Chamnankul said, โ€œThe husband had swum for five hours to reach the shore and was worried about his wife.โ€

The rescue team then resumed their search with Abdulrahman on board. Six hours after the search began, they found Atheer at 2 am. Although she sustained a minor leg injury, both were in good health. They later returned to Saudi Arabia after settling a 50,000 Thai baht ($1,400) damage fee with the jet ski operator.
