Mumbai, January 16, 2025: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed several times and brutalised at his residence in the upscale Bandra neighbourhood of Mumbai in the wee hours of Thursday. Fans and the film fraternity remain in shock by this horrific news.
According to preliminary reports, an intruder broke into Saif’s house around 3:00 AM. Saif, an actor who was 54 years old, suffered six stab wounds, two of which were deep. One wound is said to be perilously close to his spine. He was taken directly to Lilavati Hospital from his house by his family and security team for emergency surgery. Sources in the hospital say he is stable but critical.

Eyewitness accounts from neighbours and Saif’s domestic staff suggest that the assailant managed to bypass the actor’s security system. While the motive behind the attack remains unclear, Mumbai police suspect it could be a case of targeted assault rather than a random act of violence. “We are conducting a thorough investigation and reviewing CCTV footage from the area. A manhunt has been launched to apprehend the attacker,” said a senior officer from the Bandra police station.
The attack has sent shockwaves through the Bollywood world, and many celebrities quickly took to the social media networking site to state their concern and a word of consolation for Saif. His wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, and his two young boys, Taimur and Jeh, were nowhere around when it happened. She was reportedly shooting something in Delhi and will likely return to Mumbai today.
