Kite Flying, One-Wheeling and Aerial Firing Declared As Un-Islamic

Religious scholars in the country have issued a fatwa declaring one-wheeling, kite flying and aerial firing as un-Islamic. The fatwa emphasises that these life-threatening activities contradict Islamic teachings that prioritise the sanctity of human life. Scholars described these activities as highly dangerous and equated them to acts of self-harm.

DIG Operations Faisal Kamran highlighted the fatalities linked to these practices, stressing that Islam forbids actions that lead to self-destruction. According to police records, 151 individuals have been arrested for one-wheeling and 150 cases registered for kite flying in just 20 days.
