Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched the Agriculture Tubewell Solarisation project through a balloting procedure in Lahore.
Under the initiative, The Punjab Government will offer a subsidy of worth five lakh rupees for a 10-kilowatt solar installation, 7.5 lakh rupees for a 15-kilowatt system and 10 lakh rupees for a 20-kilowatt solar system.
In the first phase, the selection of eight thousand tube wells from across the province will be made through balloting for conversion to solar energy.

At the event, Maryam Nawaz instructed that the solarisation process in the first phase be concluded by June of this year.
CM Punjab also highlighted other current projects, including the Farmerโs Card, Agricultural mechanisation and internships, which aim to improve the lives of farmers. She also highlighted that the solarisation project would open a new chapter for agricultural growth in Punjab and provide a substantial uplift to the sector.
