"No Pressure on Pakistan Ahead of India Pak Match": Haris Rauf

Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has stated that the team is confident and has zero pressure ahead of their crucial ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match against India. He also mentioned that the players are focused on improving the mistakes made in their previous game against New Zealand. Speaking to reporters in Dubai, he emphasised the importance of the upcoming match and stated, “Our focus is entirely on the match against India. It is a do-or-die situation for us if we want to stay in the tournament.”

Rauf assured that despite the high stakes, the squad remains composed and positive. “There is no pressure on us, we are very relaxed. The entire squad is positive and determined to give their best performance in all three departments,” he added. Addressing concerns about his fitness, he confirmed, “I bowled 10 overs in the last match and feel completely fit.”

Reflecting on Pakistanโ€™s past performances against India in Dubai, Rauf expressed confidence in the teamโ€™s ability to repeat their previous successes. “We will aim to play the same kind of cricket as we did when we defeated India in the last two encounters here. The boys are confident and we hope to deliver a good match,” he added.

Pakistan had a tough start to their Champions Trophy campaign, losing to New Zealand by 60 runs in their opening match on February 19 at the National Bank Cricket Stadium in Karachi. Chasing a target of 321, Pakistan was bowled out for 260 in 47.2 overs.

New Zealandโ€™s innings was led by the centuries from Will Young and Tom Latham, who helped them to go at 320 for five in 50 overs. The much-awaited Pakistan-India match is scheduled for Sunday, February 23, with both teams aiming for a crucial win to stay in the tournament.
