The State Bank of Pakistan has declared Monday, March 3, 2025, a bank holiday nationwide.
The closure marks the first day of Ramadan and is set aside for Zakat deduction. According to an official notice, all banks, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) and Microfinance Banks (MFBs) will be closed for public dealings on this date.

However, bank staff must report to work as usual despite the bank holiday, as it will be a regular working day, excluding customer services.
The central bank has advised customers to plan their transactions in advance. Digital services, including ATMs and online banking, will remain available throughout the day.
