A trailer for Black Mirror season 7 on Netflix has been released, and it shows significant ties to earlier episodes, including the first-ever direct sequel in the history of the series.
The six-episode anthology series aims to challenge the boundaries of morality, technology, and human psychology. The teaser, which is set to a spooky, warped version of “Dream a Little Dream,” is a kaleidoscope of eerie images and surreal situations.
The most significant revelation is the reappearance of the fan-favourite season 4 episode, U.S.S. Callister. For the first time in Black Mirror’s history, original cast members Jimmi Simpson, Osy Ikhile, Milanka Brooks, Billy Magnussen and Cristin Milioti are returning to their roles.
Additionally, Will Poulter and Asim Chaudhry seem to be reprising their roles from the interactive special Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. This raises the prospect of a season with two Black Mirror sequels.

Series creator Charlie Brooker told Netflix’s Tudum that the new season is “a little bit OG Black Mirror,” even if the trailer hinted at the future season.
