P&G Pakistan, Imtiaz Group – Pakistan’s largest retailer and Health Oriented Preventive Education (HOPE), a non-governmental organization dedicated to tackling poverty and fueling transformative change within underserved communities, today joined forces to deliver 500,000 liters of clean drinking water during the blessed month of Ramadan. This initiative goes beyond providing an essential resource, it empowers consumers to make a tangible impact through their everyday purchases, fostering community engagement and social responsibility during the holy month.
The collaboration will launch nationwide across all 31 branches of Imtiaz, with a “Buy 1, Give 1 Day of Water,”. From March 24–30, 2025, consumers who purchase Ariel, Pampers, Always, Gillette, Head & Shoulders, Pantene, or Safeguard will contribute to this cause with every purchase.

Ovais Ather Yousuf, Chief Executive Officer of P&G Pakistan, stated, ” At P&G, we believe that small actions can drive big change. With our CSDW program, we have proudly delivered 1 billion liters of clean drinking water across Pakistan, a milestone that reflects our deep commitment to improving lives. Through this initiative with Imtiaz and HOPE, we are continuing this mission, turning everyday purchases into a source of hope for those in need.”
2.2 billion people around the world lack access to clean drinking water. Diarrhea caused by drinking contaminated water is still a leading cause of illness and death among infants and children in the developing world including Pakistan. The lack of clean water also contributes to many challenges in a community. The P&G Children’s Safe Drinking Water (CSDW) Program is a nonprofit initiative that began in 2004. The program helps raise awareness of the water crisis and provide clean drinking water to areas without access, especially during natural disasters or emergencies, using the P&G Purifier of Water packets.
The P&G Purifier of Water technology enables people anywhere in the world to purify dirty water in a simple, affordable and convenient way. A 4-gram packet, invented by P&G scientists in collaboration with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, can transform dirty water to clean, drinkable water in only 30 minutes with just a bucket, a spoon and a cloth.
Speaking at the occasion, Umer Imtiaz, Chief Executive Officer of Imtiaz Group, added, “At Imtiaz, we believe in giving back to the communities. Partnering with P&G and HOPE for this initiative allows us to make every purchase more meaningful, ensuring that this Ramadan, generosity flows beyond our stores and into the lives of those who need it most.”
Dr. Mubina Agboatwala, Founder, HOPE Foundation, emphasized, “Access to clean water changes lives, and this initiative is a testament to the power of partnerships in driving real impact. Together with P&G and Imtiaz, we are not just providing water; we are delivering health, dignity, and hope to communities in need during this blessed month of Ramadan.”
P&G continues to support the CSDW Program with technical expertise, financial investment, human resources, and a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Singapore that produces the P&G Purifier of Water packets. P&G is committed to fighting the clean water crisis in partnership with NGOs, governments, companies and consumers, with the goal of delivering 25 billion liters of clean drinking water by 2025.
