Pakistan is set to host the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Qualifier, starting on April 9. Six teams will compete for the final two spots in the main tournament, which will take place later this year in India.
The teams in the Qualifier are Pakistan, West Indies, Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland and Thailand. Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka and India have already secured their places. Australia will defend their title, having won the previous tournament in 2022.
Pakistan, Bangladesh, West Indies and Ireland finished at the bottom of the ICC Women’s Championship (2022-2025) and must now qualify. Scotland and Thailand earned their spots based on their ICC Women’s ODI rankings.
Matches will take place in Lahore at two key venues: Gaddafi Stadium and the Lahore City Cricket Association Ground. The LCCA Ground will be hosting its first-ever international women’s cricket match.

The tournament will follow a round-robin format. Each team will play every other team once, earning two points for a victory. After 15 matches, the top two teams on the points table will qualify for the Women’s Cricket World Cup.
Furthermore, Thailand aims to qualify for their first-ever World Cup, while Bangladesh hopes to make their second appearance after debuting in 2022.
Key matches include Pakistan vs Ireland and West Indies vs Scotland on April 9. Thailand will begin their campaign against Bangladesh on April 10. Along with the West Indies, they will play the final group-stage match on April 19.
