The Pakistan cricket team have faced a double blow ahead of the series-deciding third ODI against Zimbabwe as fast bowlers Ahmed Daniyal and Shahnawaz Dahani have been ruled out with injuries.
Both pacers sustained injuries during a training session on Sunday. Daniyal pulled his hamstring, while Dahani twisted his left ankle. The duo underwent initial scans and assessments, but the medical team decided it was best to send them back to Lahore for rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy.

This is undoubtedly a setback for Pakistan, especially with the final ODI just around the corner. Injuries are part of the game, but losing two key players at such a crucial moment stings.
Who Are The Replacements?
In response, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has called up Abbas Afridi and Jahandad Khan as replacements. Both players were already part of the T20I squad, which kicks off in Bulawayo next month. Their arrival is timely, as Pakistan gears up for the all-important clash on Thursday.
Additionally, Aamir Jamal, who has featured in both ODIs, has been named as Daniyal’s replacement for the T20I series. With fresh faces in the mix, Pakistan will hope the new recruits can rise to the occasion.

A Series of Highs and Lows
The three-match ODI series has been anything but predictable. Zimbabwe drew first blood in the opener, claiming an 80-run victory in a rain-hit game. But Pakistan roared back in the second ODI, chasing down 146 runs with ease.
Saim Ayub was the star of the show, smashing a brilliant 113 to lead his team to victory. The young batter’s century not only levelled the series but also silenced critics questioning Pakistan’s batting depth.
Now, with the series tied at 1-1, everything hinges on Thursday’s decider. Both teams have everything to play for, and fans can expect an intense battle at the same venue in Bulawayo.
