Ahmed Shehzad has lashed out at Pakistan’s chief selector Mohammad Yousuf for leaving Kamran Ghulam out of the squad for the upcoming Test series against England. And he didn’t stop there—he had some choice words for the PCB and its chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, too.

The Kamran Ghulam Snub

Kamran Ghulam has been one of the most consistent performers in Pakistan’s domestic circuit. Recently, he knocked two centuries in the Champions One-Day Cup, yet once again, his name was missing from the squad list for the Multan Test starting on October 7.

“Kamran Ghulam has once again been ignored, and Mohammad Yousuf did not include him in Pakistan’s 15-member squad,” Shehzad said, clearly frustrated.

Ghulam’s continuous exclusion despite his consistent form has raised eyebrows not just from fans but from fellow cricketers like Shehzad.

Calling Out the “Dhoka Cup”

Ahmed Shehzad didn’t hold back when it came to the Champions One-Day Cup either, going so far as to call it the “Dhoka Cup” or “Fraud Cup.”

He openly questioned the credibility of the tournament. “They said performers from this ‘Dhoka Cup’ would be included in the national team, but just watch—they’ll bring in five players and line them up like robots,” Shehzad said.

Questioning Yousuf’s Choices

He took direct aim at Mohammad Yousuf, one of Pakistan’s most iconic batsmen, now under fire for his selection decisions. Shehzad didn’t mince his words, especially about the inclusion of players like Aamer Jamal and Shaheen Afridi, despite concerns over their fitness.

Meanwhile, guys like Mohammad Ali, Kamran Ghulam, and Sahibzada Farhan continue to be left out. “Aamer Jamal is not fully fit, Shaheen Afridi is not fully fit, yet you didn’t include Mohammad Ali. What kind of logic is this?” Shehzad questioned.

A Call for Accountability

Shehzad didn’t just leave it at that. He wrapped up by calling for accountability from the PCB. “What kind of selection have you made? What are you expecting from this team? Are you learning from your mistakes or just doing nothing at all?”

His frustration wasn’t just about this squad or even this Test series. It was a broader criticism of how Pakistan cricket is being managed, and how the younger generation is being overlooked. According to Shehzad, the system is failing to nurture fresh talent.
