Given the scarcity of conventional facilities and aids combined with harsh landscape, why would someone want to cook food in the wilderness and not in the comfort of their home?
That’s precisely what we wanted to understand when images of Ahsan Irshad, a “self-taught adventure cook” began doing rounds on social media.
Ahsan quit his full-time job and opted for his dream where he felt free. Like so many of us, the 26-year-old budding chef acknowledged that while he had amassed a degree that was well-suited to the needs of highly competitive job market (he studied computer science), that wasn’t where his heart and soul was.
Ahsan has his own Instagram blog and YouTube channel where he shares photos and videos of his cooking explorations with the world.

So, we decided to list down the reasons why we wanted to swap places with Arshad.ย
1. His food looks mouth-watering and he’s certainly your guy if you wish to learn the rules of being a great cook, especially when you’re in the wild exploring.ย

2. Enjoying the first sip of that garam chai between the mountains and cold is like heaven on earth.ย

3. Having some food for soul in Kumrat doesn’t seem to shabby right?
4. Would you look at the sight? This truly is natureโs beauty!
5. This is precisely what you call an Instagrammer’s paradise.ย
6. Enjoying shawarma in the wild seems like too good to be true but ok.ย
Born and raised in Islamabad, Ahsan Arshad is recognized for cooking different cuisines outdoors –ย desi food, Italian and Chinese dishes as well as fast food.
Now you know why we wish to trade places with this chef!
