Criticism of the Drama’s Subject Matter
Ali Safina admitted that Tere Bin had a huge fan following and he even appreciated the performance and production quality of this drama as well. According to him, the actors gave phenomenal performances and he said the production values were of great standard. According to him, however, his problem with the drama was related to its objectionable depiction of sensitive topics depiction as marital r*pe. He was worried that such kind of content might be damaging and inappropriate for the audience.

While discussing the topic, Safina said that Pakistani dramas need to take care of the cultural and social sensitivity of their audiences. He added that such drama, like Tere Bin, has the potential to stay in the audience’s minds, and thus, not to normalize the negative storylines. His comment on it, “garbage,” was not something against the whole quality of the drama but against its problematic storyline.
