Apple is set to unveil its latest innovation – ‘Apple Intelligence’, a revolutionary feature to be launched alongside iOS 18.1. This avant-garde intelligence system fuses generative models with personal contexts, optimizing communication, productivity and self-expression on the iPhone. It has been masterfully engineered to operate flawlessly while also prioritizing user privacy and security. Here’s an explanation on its set-up process, accessibility, and the new characteristics it introduces with iOS 18.1.
How to Enable Apple Intelligence
Apple Intelligence beta version, available from October, will be limited to certain iPhone models only. To initialize this function, specific requirements in terms of the operating system and settings are needed. Please follow the subsequent instructions after updating your gadget
- Navigate to Settings.
- Click on Apple Intelligence & Siri.
- Opt for Register for the Apple Intelligence Waitlist.
The full activation process may take a couple of hours after you sign up for the waitlist, but duration may differ. A notification will be sent when Apple Intelligence is ready for activation. On enabling it, a model will be downloaded into the device, empowering Apple Intelligence to work directly from your iPhone.
Pre-requisites of Apple Intelligence
The serviceability of Apple Intelligence is restricted to iPhone 16 models and iPhone Pro 15 series devices. To optimise its functionality, ensure:
- iOS 18.1 is installed on your iPhone.
- You have a minimum of 4 GB free storage space.
- The device and Siri languages have been configured to any of the supported languages.
Initially, global support for English (US) will be incorporated in Apple Intelligence. However, by December, other English dialects like Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the UK will also be supported. Over the course of 2025, Apple aspires to introduce additional languages such as Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
Regional Accessibility of Apple Intelligence
The debut of Apple Intelligence will exclude the European Union (EU) and mainland China. If your accounts or devices are linked to these regions, you can only activate Apple Intelligence if you’re situated outside EU or China. However, Apple is optimistic about including these regions in the future. This will enable compatible devices to access Apple Intelligence upon its launch.
