On account of the green line project inauguration, federal minister Asad Umar share the details about the Karachi Transformation Plan with the public. He also revealed information about the remaining track of the Greenline project.
Karachi Transformation Plan
Minister for Planning Asad Umar has said that the buses will run for 15 days on probation. “The buses will start running regularly from December 25,” he added.

Meanwhile, the project is said to be completed with Rs 35 billion per the agreement between the Sindh government and the federal government. The Sindh government had requested the Federal government to take responsibility for its maintenance for three years.
The minister said, “Sindh government would collect the revenue of first three years and transfer it to the federal government as per accord.” However, the federal government would provide the subsidy to the passengers, he added.

He said this project would be profitable for the country, and the fare would be from Rs 15 to Rs 55. Also, he recommended that the provincial government review fare rates on an annual basis to make this project successful.

Project DetailsÂ
Approved by the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec), the Green Line project was executed by the Sindh Infrastructure Development Company Ltd (SIDCL). Starting from KESC Powerhouse Chowrangi in Surjani Town, the bus service is to terminate at Merewether Tower after passing through Nagan Chowrangi, North Nazimabad, Nazimabad and Gurumandir, with 21 stations along its route to cater to 300,000 passengers daily.
With over 23-kilometre dedicated tracks, including an 11km elevated section, the bus service project also offers special services for the disabled.
