Recently, a viral video on social media has caught the attention of thousands of Pakistanis, especially Karachiities. The video was claimed to be shot in Karachi’s newly opened Askari Park which opened doors for the public on Eid-ul-Fitr.
In the video, it can be seen that there was a huge mishap with the Ferris Wheel, leading to a crucial death of a minor girl. However, whilst the incident is true and it did occur, the ride is not from Askari Amusement Park neither in any theme park in Pakistan.
The origin of the video is from India, where a 10-yr old girl lost her life due to a loose bolt causing the girl and other occupants to fall from a height of 50 ft. at a funfair in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.
The girl and 6 other individuals were sent off to Anantapur General Hospital immediately. On the other hand, eyewitnesses claim that the bolts were reported to the operated, however, neglection of the matter led to the unfortunate accident.
The video has been very popular been shared across Pakistan, being falsy claimed to be the new ride at the park. Askari Amusement Park’s management took it to their social media to clarify this false claim.
