An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Karachi has extended the physical remand of Armaghan, the prime suspect in the Mustafa Amir murder case, for seven more days. The court has directed the investigation officer to submit a progress report at the next hearing. Prosecutors stated that more time was needed to recover a laptop and mobile phone, which they believe hold crucial evidence.
Armaghan’s defense counsel opposed the extension, arguing that the police had already completed their investigation and further remand was unnecessary. However, the court sided with the prosecution and approved the request. During the hearing, the judge inquired about the sealing of evidence, to which the investigation officer confirmed compliance. The court also permitted Armaghan’s parents to meet him briefly.

According to a report, Armaghan had allegedly confessed to the crime and revealed details about Mustafa’s murder. The report stated that Armaghan ran a call center at a bungalow in Defence’s Khayaban-e-Momin area, where 30 to 40 boys and girls worked, along with 30 to 35 security guards. The bungalow also housed three lion cubs illegally. The report further revealed that Armaghan was involved in drug use and had planned to harm Mustafa before.
The investigation report stated that on January 6, Armaghan assaulted Mustafa with an iron rod, tied him up and placed his body in Mustafa’s car. Along with Shiraz, he took the body to Hub, where they burned the vehicle. Later, they walked for hours, took rides and returned to Karachi. The report also mentioned that Armaghan had been involved in a drug import case in 2019 but had secured bail at the time.
