Numerous people were wounded after the Aurat March in Islamabad came under attack by religious men – one of whom was masked as a woman in a burqa – on Sunday as the march was drawing to a close in front of Islamabad Press Club.
The occurrence took place when the march was about to come to an end. Some people removed a cloth partition installed for the safety of the participants and entered the demonstration.
On the other side of the partition, a counter-protest had been underway. However, the situation was soon brought under control by the cops.
There were people who gave their two cents on the entire chaos at the march on Sunday.

Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari also issued a condemnation, saying that while people have the right to disagree, “violence is unacceptable”.
Strongly condemn the stoning & violence against peaceful gathering of women, men & families in #AuratMarch2020. Our religion teaches tolerance & Sabr. It does not allow throwing stones & sticks at unarmed ppl one disagrees with. Can disagree with them but violence is unacceptable

It’s sad to see how women are not appreciated enough in our society and the reason to they were stoned was because they demanded equality.
JUIF & Sunni-ittehad mullahs violently attacked us today at #AuratAzadiMarch2020 with rocks & chilli powder and 5 of our people got severely injured. What triggered them? Seeing women reclaiming public space.
This is the true & ugly face of this society that we march against! pic.twitter.com/c5VLJGvJ4B— Maria H. Malik ☠(@marriyamalik1) March 8, 2020
Furthermore, the men, who reportedly belonged to the Jamiat Ulema-e Islam – Fazl (JUI-F) and Lal Masjid, were hurling abuses at women, telling them to stop chanting the slogan ‘Mera Jism, Meri Marzi’.
We were flashed at by the JUIF goons, they threw chillies on another woman’s face, they injured multiple people but no one backed off! I’m so proud of each and everyone person and the organisers. We will win. Victory is ours! pic.twitter.com/OdIBpxLxlP

Women’s safety is actually something to think about in PakistanÂ
Look at all these men attacking the peaceful #AuratAzadiMarch in Islamabad. If they can do this in public, you can well imagine what they do behind closed doors #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2020 https://t.co/yOv0plTGRa

Questions are being raised regarding the negligence of Islamabad police at the Aurat MarchÂ
Islamabad police DID NOT provide the protection the way it should have.
1. Why was the mullah session in the same place separated only by a cloth tent?
2. When stones were thrown at us why were the police running away?

It’s no surprise that the entire facade was to try and put women down. Irfana Yasser was returning to her car with her children when a man threw chilli powder at her face while many others reported that the religious men showed them their private parts.
I was with my kids in march and coming back to my car when a man sprinkled chilli powder on my face. How he brought chilli with him. Did no body check him @dcislamabad @AuratAzadiMarch @Tooba_Sd

Osman Khalid Butt also added his opinions on the matterÂ
Just came back from the Karachi #AuratMarch to this horrifying news.
Resorting to violence, pelting stones and bricks on peaceful protestors? Ye dars deta hai hamara deen?

Actress Mansha Pasha stated that the alleged defenders if Islam needs a correct definition of women rights.Â
I should infact say
"Self proclaimed defenders of Islam."
Pls donot flatter urself, it existed long before u and will exist after u are gone.
The most u can do is make the world a better place with ur kind words and spread it thru good influence but u are failing miserably.— manshapasha (@manshapasha) March 7, 2020
Is this really the Naya Pakistan?Â
News: religious people attacked #AuratMarchIslamabad

The burqa clad when above and beyond to prove their pointÂ
Why are the men getting so emotional.
They need to calm down. https://t.co/mjUc957YIu
