Former captains Azhar Ali and Misbah-ul-Haq have revealed the secret to success of the Multan Sultans in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9, where they emerged as a formidable force.

Multan Sultans yesterday clinched their third consecutive victory with a commanding win over defending PSL champions Lahore Qalandars by five wickets.

Former cricketer Azhar Ali, sharing insights on a local sports channel, unveiled the secret behind Multan’s remarkable success, attributing it to the team’s adherence to fundamental strategies.

“They [Multan Sultans] are excelling in the basics. They’re not attempting anything out of the ordinary. Whether it’s bowling yorkers, slower deliveries, or maintaining line and length, they execute with utmost focus and commitment. Their captaincy and plans reflect simplicity,” Azhar commented.

Echoing Azhar’s sentiments, former captain Misbah-ul-Haq also commended Multan’s bowling unit for their stellar performance, highlighting their ability to restrict oppositions even without taking many wickets.

“We must give credit to Multan’s bowling. It was good bowling that despite not taking wickets, they didn’t allow Lahore to score freely,” Misbah added.
