Pakistan is all set for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh, and sources have spilled the beans on the batting position of star batter Babar Azam.

The former captain, who has faced criticism for his performance and captaincy over the past year, will reportedly take the number four spot in the batting lineup.

Babar Azam has been under fire recently due to Pakistan’s underwhelming performance in both the ODI and T20 World Cups of 2023 and 2024, where they failed to advance past the group stages.

Fans and critics have voiced concerns over his leadership in white-ball cricket, but Babar remains focused on making a mark in the Test arena.

Batting Lineup Changes

As the Test series approaches, sources indicate that Abdullah Shafique will continue as an opener, maintaining his spot at the top of the order.

However, Saim Ayub, who debuted against Australia, might not make it into the playing XI this time. Despite scoring 0 and 33 in his debut, Saim has struggled with form, particularly in T20Is since January 2024.

Enter Mohammad Huraira, the uncapped batting prodigy who is in fine form with Pakistan Shaheens. He is a strong contender to replace Saim and will likely get his chance to shine alongside the established lineup.

Meanwhile, captain Shan Masood will maintain his position at number three, providing stability and leadership. Vice captain Saud Shakeel and wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan will complete Pakistan’s middle order.

Bowling Attack: The Return of Naseem Shah

In the bowling department, Mir Hamza is set to play as the third seamer, complementing the experienced Shaheen Shah Afridi and the returning pace sensation Naseem Shah. With this formidable trio, Pakistan’s bowling attack looks strong and ready to challenge Bangladesh’s batsmen.
