Former captain Babar Azam and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan are best friends on and off the field and are known for their bond across cricket circles.
They have opened together for Pakistan in T20I cricket for the past few years and have scored over 2000 runs, making them the most prolific opening pair in T20I cricket.
However, in a surprising encounter, Babar Azam failed to recognize his opening partner during an interactive session on X (formerly Twitter).
Babar Azam hosted a Space session on X, formerly Twitter, and answered the questions from his fans, submitted by using the hashtag “Ask Babar”. He talked about various things related to his cricket career, personal life, and parents.
Are you as excited as I am for the live Twitter Space? I'll be answering questions already submitted using #AskBabar. Send your questions and tune in. I will answer as many questions as possible. 💬✨🙌

The informal online interaction took an amusing turn with Rizwan’s surprise entry. Babar initially failed to recognize Rizwan’s voice, leading to him asking how he landed in the space followed by some light-hearted banter between the two.
Rizwan popped the question about Babar’s marriage plans, catching the star batter off guard. “When is your marriage,” Rizwan asked. “I knew you would ask this,” Azam replied.
“You are answering everyone, you will have to answer this as well,” Rizwan questioned. “I will answer this to you privately,” Babar responded while chuckling.

While answering the questions Babar Azam also opened up on his relationship with former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and asserted that the latter played a major role in his success.
“[Sarfaraz Ahmed] backed me and supported me a lot. Wherever I am now, is because of him,” said Babar.
Reflecting on the emotional moments of his cricket journey, Babar mentioned his debut, becoming captain, and the heartbreaking loss against Zimbabwe in the World Cup.
“There have been many emotional moments. When I made my debut was one of them while becoming captain was an emotional moment too. But, the loss against Zimbabwe in the World Cup was heartbreaking,” Babar revealed.
Babar outlined his future goals, with a strong emphasis on winning the World Cup for Pakistan. “I want to play at every upcoming World Cup and help Pakistan win.”
