The 2025 EE BAFTA Film Awards provided an unforgettable night of movie celebration at The Royal Festival Hall in London, courtesy of David Tennant. With hit movies such as Conclave and The Brutalist leading the pack of winners, the evening also witnessed some first-time winners.
Big Winners of the Night
Conclave, a political thriller, was a big winner, taking home four awards, including Best Film and Outstanding British Film. Its gripping storyline and incisive editing also won it awards for Adapted Screenplay and Editing.

Keeping pace with Conclaveโs triumph, The Brutalist also won four BAFTAs. Brady Corbet was awarded Best Director, and Adrien Brodyโs dominating performance saw him pick up Leading Actor. The filmโs stunning Cinematography and haunting Original Score further cemented its position.

Conversely, Anora made waves with Mikey Madison picking up Leading Actress and Emilia Pรฉrez impressing on the global stage, taking Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldaรฑa and Best Film Not in the English Language.

Honouring New Talent
It was an evening of new faces and breakthrough wins. Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director, or Producer went to Kneecap and Rich Peppiettโs talent was honoured. A Real Pain by Jesse Eisenberg won the BAFTA for Original Screenplay , and Supporting Actor was claimed by Kieran Culkin.

EE Rising Star Award, the sole one voted for by the public, was awarded to David Jonsson, cementing his status as one to look out for.
Technical Excellence
From breathtaking visual effects to iconic costume design, technical craftsmanship was honoured in every category. Dune: Part Two took home Special Visual Effects and Sound, and Wicked impressed with awards for Costume Design and Production Design. Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl broke the mould, claiming Best Animated Film and the new Childrenโs & Family Film award.

Honouring Legacy and Contribution
Warwick Davis was awarded the prestigious BAFTA Fellowship for outstanding career and support for individuals with dwarfism. MediCinema was also honoured as an Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema for its work in making films accessible to hospital patients.

The evening was filled with poignant performances, such as Take Thatโs heartfelt rendition of Greatest Day. Jeff Goldblumโs poignant piano tribute during the In Memoriam was also unforgettable. With the curtain coming down on the BAFTAs, the industry not only celebrated the films of the previous year, but also the future of cinema shining brightly.
