An elderly woman was taken to a bank in Karachi’s North Nazimabad area on a stretcher for biometric verification. The bank reportedly offers home service for this process, but her family still brought her in a severely ill state. A video circulating online showed the woman sitting in a chair while her attendants helped her complete the biometric verification.
In the video, a voice says, “I am at the HBL bank in L-Block, North Nazimabad, where a patient was brought on a stretcher for biometric verification.” Meanwhile, a bank official tried to stop the person from filming and instructed a guard to take away the phone.

Despite the incident, the bank staff could not explain why the woman was brought in despite her condition. Another bank official was heard telling the person recording, โIt is not allowed. Do you even know the situation? You are filming in a sensitive area.โ
The incident has raised concerns about the challenges elderly and sick individuals face in completing mandatory biometric verification. The video has sparked discussions on social media, with many questioning why the family had to bring her to the bank instead of using the home service.
