July 19th, 2019: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued No Objection Certificates (NOC’s) to 5 players to participate in Canada’s Global T20 League.
The 5 players who have been granted approval include ‘Professor’ Mohammad Hafeez, all-rounder Shoaib Malik, fast-bowler Wahab Riaz, amusing spinner Shadab Khan and Umar Akmal.
Former skipper Shahid Afridi will also be part of the league. On the other hand, he does not require a NOC from PCB to be eligible to participate in the tournament.

Fakhar Zaman has requested for the NOC but has not been granted one as of now. The Canada Global T20 League will commence from 25th July and will be played in Ontario. The final will be played on 11th August.
June 24th, 2019: Pakistan cricket team has failed to live up to our expectations in the ongoing World Cup 2019 and left cricket fanatics highly disappointed throughout the nation.
However, the Global T20 League Canada is scheduled to be played in Brampton from 25th July and six Pakistani cricketers have been selected to take part.
The 6 Pakistani players in this year’s Canada’s T20 League:
- Shahid Afridi and Wahab Riaz — Brampton Wolves
- Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz — Edmonton Royals
- Shoaib Malik — Vancouver Knights
- Umar Akmal — Winnipeg Hawks

Former Pakistan captain and all-rounder Shahid Afridi will design Brampton Wolves along with left-arm pacer Wahab Riaz.
Spinners Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz will be part of the Edmonton Royals team.
Other than them, expert player, Shoaib Malik will play for Vancouver Knights which also includes Chris Gayle and Andre Russell in their squad.
Batsman Umar Akmal will also get a chance to showcase his talent and play for Winnipeg Hawks.
The two franchises in the tournament are Toronto Nationals and Montreal Tigers.
The league will also feature Brendon McCullum (Toronto Nationals), Sunil Narine (Montreal Tigers), Chris Lynn, Dwayne Bravo (Winnipeg Hawks) and Faf du Plessis (Edmonton Royals) among others.
